EXPERIENCE & PASSION
At Club Petit Pierrot we passionately believe that children learn French best while having fun, and by being fully immersed in the language.
To successfully teach with the immersion method, teachers need to provide children with an appropriate learning environment full of opportunities for communication!
All the teachers at Club Petit Pierrot are experienced, qualified to work with children, and trained to teach French. They are all native French teachers, dynamic, fun, dedicated and passionate about teaching French to young children. At Club Petit Pierrot, teachers have an initial training period and are handed down an educational guide with plans of all the lessons. During weekly meetings the team discuss the programme and are coached by Stella Bataille, Founder/Director, in order to use the best approach for each group, according to the language level and general abilities of the children.
Stella Bataille – Founder/Director
Stella arrived in London in 1989. She worked at L’École des Petits, a teacher in “Petite Section” for three years. Having a lot of children with no knowledge of French at the beginning of the school year, she started to research and develop her techniques to help specifically those children. Realising that there were no such lessons for children of a very young age in London and having excellent results, she decided to create her own programme which is now offered to thousands of children across London. The first class included only a few children, but it quickly grew mainly by word of mouth.
Stella choses the members of her team very carefully, always looking for motivated and creative teachers, experienced in working with children, who passionately enjoy teaching French and sharing their culture. Stella believes that this collaboration with her teachers and the synergy between her experience and the skills of her team are important in order to deliver the best lessons possible. Over the years, the programmes have continued to evolve, and have become increasingly innovative.
Stella has written and recorded songs and rhymes for children to learn French and hopes to develop more educational tools in the future. She has also coached French nannies and parents so that they can apply the immersion method approach to everyday life, and she has worked as a Language Consultant helping to develop games to learn French for Cartoonito network. Stella knows both the French and British education systems well from personal experience as a teacher and as a mother.
Stella still enjoys teaching some of the groups herself and leading some of the Club’s special events.
