What if learning French could be as fun as making a piece of art, singing a song, cooking a delicious treat or playing with friends?
Our immersive French Holiday Camps are built around the idea that children learn best by doing! Through creative, active, playful experiences, children use French naturally throughout the day, while developing a whole range of other skills along the way!
Our native French-speaking teachers bring the language to life through everyday activities, helping children build confidence, discover new interests and learn without realising it!
Learning French, one activity at a time!
Every activity is an opportunity to discover and practise French vocabulary, listen and use grammatical structures... and develop important life skills!
đ«đ· Language games & role-play: because our games and role-play are entirely led in French, children build vocabulary and expressions they can immediately put into practice. They develop listening skills and confidence as they respond, take turns and interact with others. All while strengthening their imagination and social skills.
đš Arts & crafts: Itâs amazing how much vocabulary you can use in a craft activity when itâs led in total immersion! Youâll think about colours and shapes, we can add instructions, movement, tools, counting, materials and textures, position and space, appreciation and encouragement... When seeing, touching and handling the materials it gives words a clear meaning, helping the children to connect words with actions, objects, feeling, making them understand, remember and use what they learn. In parallel, that creative process develops fine motor skills, imagination and hand-eye coordination.
đ§âđł Cooking: With a hands-on activity like cooking, children connect words, and sentence patterns to actions making them easier to remember and far easier to use spontaneously! While cooking, the children learn through all five senses, exploring the ingredients, numbers, measurements and sequencing, but also some French culture!
đ Singing & dancing: through repetition and actions, children can practise pronunciation, tune in to the rhythm of the language and remember new words without relying on translation. All of that, while building coordination and confidence!
đ Fun worksheets: they are a new way to revisit and consolidate the language encountered throughout the day. When immersed in French, children hear it, read it, respond to it, and use it for meaningful communication instead of depending on translation. By connecting written activities with words and expressions they have already heard and used during camp, children strengthen their vocabulary and begin to recognise language patterns. They also develop concentration and problem-solving skills.
â Sensory experiments: with our immersive method, French comes to life naturally when children can see, touch and explore what they are talking about. They explore textures, colours and reactions while developing descriptive language, curiosity and early scientific thinking!
đ Storytelling activities: being immersed in French through a story means that our mini-linguists return to its characters, events and vocabulary each day. This continuity in the immersion and the story helps them become familiar with the language. Through repetition, discussion and opportunities to retell the story, they develop comprehension, sequencing skills, imagination and confidence in expressing ideas in French.
đ§ Yoga & mindfulness: When using our immersive method during yoga, simple instructions in French become easier to understand as children can follow the accompanying movements. No need for translation, as they listen, observe and practise words and body vocabulary in context. At the same time, they develop body awareness, concentration, emotional regulation and the ability to slow down and focus.
âœïž Indoor or outdoor play & sporty games: These moments create another genuine need to understand and use French in real time! Children arenât just practising words. Theyâre listening to instructions, reacting to their teammates, making decisions and communicating to keep the game going! Thatâs where immersion becomes especially powerful! They learn to connect words and expressions directly with actions and situations and build confidence speaking French, without translating every words in their heads. Along the way, they reinforce coordination, teamwork, independence and resilience. At our Chelsea venue, children will also enjoy our own playground during the day and for sporty games.
Because French is part of the shared experience, children have opportunities to use familiar words spontaneously and build confidence through everyday interaction.
Thatâs how they learn, play and grow en français !
