Why songs are such powerful immersion learning tools?

In our classes, we combine songs with movement, props, games and imagination to bring French to life.

What makes our approach extra special? The songs are written by Stella, founder and director of Club Petit Pierrot, specifically to complement our educational programmes. This means children can sing along, reinforce what they learn in class and practise their French in a fun, familiar way, with in the classroom and at home!

So why is it so powerful?

Catchy melodies and repeated phrases give children opportunities to hear the same vocabulary again and again.

Actions, gestures and dancing help children connect words with objects, body parts and everyday experiences.

Children will absorb French vocabulary, linguistic patterns and grammatical structures.

Recognising a song and anticipating what comes next can encourage children to participate more independently.

Songs are easy to bring into everyday activities, and children naturally love singing and moving. Through repetition, rhythm and play, they get exposure to French in a fun and engaging way. Such a simple tool with a big impact on language learning!
